Music, Effective Medicine for Modern Life

Have you ever imagined yourself lying on a beach with a glass of cocktail in your hand underneath the shade of a tree, listening to the music you like the most? We mostly imagine this to be a scene in our vacation trip and always long to be there because it means we could get some relaxation. But we should reconsider about this statement because the factors that help us relax varies from person to person. For me, though, it is music. As most of the teenagers do. I love listening to music. Whenever I listen to my own playlist, I feel like I’m back home and safe. The songs that are included in the list varies from fast and exciting music full of beats and raps, all the way to those that are quite slow but convey romantic feelings. Why did I add bunch of songs that doesn’t match with each other in terms of their musical traits? I’d say that’s because of my feelings or emotions. At the early mornings of my weekdays when I start the exciting but tired day, I don’t want to list...

The Healthiest Food

Some people don’t like the way cheese smell and think that it tastes like cream that has already gone bad, but those descriptions have never made much sense to me. For me, cheese is an attractive masterpiece, so appetizing that I would love to meet the person who invented it and express my gratitude for his great work. I’ll never forget the first time I tasted Camembert, a soft and creamy yellow cheese which was first made in France. I had the first experience in a special buffet as a part of our family trip to Je-ju island. It gave off a pleasant light scent of fresh milk. As soon as I put it into my mouth, it just melted into a mouthful of soft cream that tasted like a small slice of sweet bread soaked in milk.    That was the start of my journey through the world of cheese, which pushed me to search about several kinds of cheese around the world. I tried my best not to look at the mouth-watering photos, because I couldn’t taste it anyway. But the photos forc...

My best friend ever

Friendship is one of the most important things in our life. It’s the most useful tool that help us solve emotional problems and adapt to the environment when it changes. Though sometimes it can be stressful when we have conflict with our close friends, but that’s only a tiny flaw when compared to its huge benefits. Looking back, however, I wasn’t that interested in making close friends and just always tried to behave positively to everyone. I didn’t know that kind of relationship will be superficial. As time pass by, I realized how important it is to have my own close friendships. When I was in high school, my first grade wasn’t that easy to go through because I just skipped the middle school period. That was the first time I felt that having a close friend that could help me relieve anxiety and support emotionally is crucial in life. Right then, I met Sean who is the closest friend throughout the harsh and tedious routines. We’ve stayed in the same classes for two-thi...

Homesickness

Traveling to another country is always an exciting experience. Right after my first year in elementary school, I had to live abroad in Thailand with my family. It excited me at the first few weeks because I love exploring new things. Though some say that when they go to another country, facing the changes in the cultural things such as tastes of food are some of the most difficult, it wasn’t a problem for me. But right then, I didn’t know how hard it would be to live in another environment in which all other people except for my family use strange language I’ve never ever heard before. I remember the first time I got into the elementary school in Chiang Mai. It was a school that teaches both English and Thai, but most of the classmates used Thai as their main language. For me who couldn’t speak even one sentence in Thai and wasn’t even good at speaking English, it was a harsh time. All the students seemed to think that I’m a stranger which should not be accepted to join in the...

How to Fight Allergies

Blue sky and light green mountains with red, yellow, orange, blue and all the other uncountable number of colorful flowers. The spring always comes to us with bright colors and fresh weather. While we enjoy the wonderful weather, however, some of us may suffer painfully. That’s because the spring is also the season of allergies. There are several causes that are responsible for these abnormal body responses such as pollen or frequent changes in daily-temperature. I’m also one of those people who always bring tissue with me because of our runny nose. Especially, every morning, I have to sneeze almost ten times in a row before rushing to the bathroom and wiping my overflowing nose. If you also find this to be the case, I believe you also want to know the solutions. I’ve searched a lot about the ways to treat these symptoms and today I would like to share some of those which I found effective. First, get some exercise in the morning. I know this ma...

Internet- Foe or Friend

Most of the people buy everyday supplies through the Internet not the shopping mall. In Korea, more than 30 million people shop online. In school text books, the Internet based political activities including voting are referred to as popular ways of expressing our opinions in society. But we should still use Internet adequately and in the right ways because it has both good sides and bad sides. The Internet is used positively for searching and sharing information. It has a useful format that enables users to find information conveniently. Its main function is arranging the information into a fixed form which is designed to be searcher-friendly. The Internet, however, can cause some problems as well. Excessive information search might force the internet users to fall into the maze of information and then the users can’t find what they really want. Sometimes using the Internet can be addictive and so it could lead people to...
